Flight Sergeant Harold Sobel, 1922-1943

Flight Sergeant Harold Sobel served in the R.C.A.F. between 1940 and 1943. He was reported missing and was presummed dead for official purposes following air operations over Holland on May 1, 1943. He is buried in Akkerwoude, Holland.

Born in 1922, Flight Sergeant Sobel was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Samuel Sobel of 5 Major St. in Toronto. He attended Central Technical and Lansdowne schools, an enlisted in the air force in 1940 at the age of 18. He took part in air attacks on Italy. A brother, Sergeant Alex Sobel, served as a wireless air gunner in the R.C.A.F.
